Health promotion of the University:

Health Promotion is an integral part of University Life. There are a number of working groups for different projects such as Trinity Operations Transformation, Trinity Health & Sports Week, Trinity Smoking Cessation, Trinity Smoke Free Campus, Trinity Cycle to College Challenge, Trinity Walk to College Challenge. Most health promotion activity is bounded within settings that provide the social structure and context, i.e. setting-specific features for planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion. Community-wide health promotion programs and policies usually require the coordination of multiple settings within and across sectors. Sports Clubs are an under-utilized setting as generally supply sport specific training geared towards competition rather than health related benefits. So on the focus is to support the health related benefits like smoking cessation for example to create a healthier life.

Selected health promoting physical activities:

Staff and students throughout the college followed their lead and signed up to follow their programmes. Over 160 participated the year with events, classes and fitness programmes being provided by the department of Sport. This is a lifestyle change programme
