Lunch-Beat-Break: RWTH Aachen Gets Her Dancing Shoes On!

Gene Kelly may have done it best with “Singin’ in the Rain”, tap dancing and stunting his way through city streets, but RWTH Aachen gave the iconic performer a run for his money with her “Lunch-Beat-Break” despite the wet weather on the 28th of September.

In cooperation with the International Office, the sports department organized a special lunch free-dancing event during the International Welcome Week and the European Week of Sports. The raindrops certainly didn’t stop the over 200 participants from spinning, twerking, jiving, splashing and sashaying their way across the plaza. What better way to inspire a more active lifestyle than to joyfully rain-dance one’s way through a lunch break?

The participants agree! Says one student from India, “After dancing [to express] the way I feel, I feel relieved and refreshed for the rest of the day.”

A lesson for us all from Aachen: come rain or shine, get your dancing shoes on to MOVE MORE AND FEEL BETTER!
